MTV Roadies 7.0To Hell … With Everybody

ROADIES Fans,
Roadies 7.0 – What Are You Looking For?
Roadies 7.0 is due next year. Already, there are many imaginations populating the mind of the audience. A few striking ideas come out as glaring suggestions. A few believe that roadie shall now travel to Africa, a place where real, virgin dangers lie. It’s all great passing through Singapore and Australia but no place brings fear as nude as Africa. Pyramids are another place to shoot roadies 7.0.
The game shall also bend towards being more merit-driven. This would infuse raw talents to work their way better. After all, mind games are all right but a small mistake here and there and every thing can be shattered. The elimination of Roop in roadies 6.0 is a case in this point.
Roadies 7.0 shall also change the concept of biking to something more daring. In fact, each contestant shall be asked to be strong in one particular niche of adventure and his performance in that particular draw shall count. Wrestling bouts should be annulled as they need raw power and thus those who are light-weighted cannot perform as meritoriously.
Last but not the least, Raghu should figure more prominently in the game throughout the show.

Here is the link for you all to get all the update about Roadies 7.

Effect Of Booze On Body Building

TGIF... Yippee it's Friday! After a full week of dragging your worn out carcass to the office, trudging along for eight hours in front of the computer, and then coming back slipping into your gym attire and rushing off to work on those sickening love handles; you owe it to yourself to use your weekend to good effect and party all night. Let's face it, despite what you would have your parents believe what do these get-togethers and parties revolve around? Booze, of course. I understand, that there is absolutely no way you can avoid drowning yourself in beer on a weekend party. After all is exactly what their friends are doing. However if you are a bodybuilding enthusiast like me, you should treat your body as your temple. All throughout the week we strive so hard to eat right, take plenty of fluids, have regulars sleep patterns and of course work out. Isn't it weird that after putting in so much effort or five days a week, we end up drinking like a fish and get shit faced! There was a time when I too wasted no time to hit the bar, the second I hit the party scene. But that was before I realised exactly how much alcohol was hurting the efforts I was putting in the gym. I hope after you have gone through this article you we'll realise the detrimental effect alcohol has on bodybuilders and hopefully cut back on your drinking. Useless caloriesAlcohol is nothing but a whole lot of useless calories. It is absolutely devoid of any nutrients, but has the high calorie value (almost 8 cal per gram). A single shot of vodka contains almost 110 cal. Guys who are trying to lose weight should either give up drinking completely all learn to live with their paunch. That's because not only does the super high calorie content of booze add to your total calorie intake, it also lowers your metabolism rate thereby disrupting the kreb's cycle. When Kreb's cycle gets disrupted fats don't get broken down. To put it simply due to the amount of effort your body has to make to metabolise and digest the alcohol, fats don't get burnt.Dehydration of the bodyNot only does your muscle growth get affected due to hangovers but alcohol actually reduces protein synthesis by almost 20 per cent. That's a huge number. Consumption of alcohol results in muscle dehydration. As most of you are aware that their hydrated muscles offer an optimal anabolic environment that is so very necessary for the body to build muscles.when the cells of your body are not able to hold enough water it becomes extremely hard to build muscles. Alcohol also acts as a block disallowing the absorption of a number of important nutrients like potassium, phosphorus and iron. These are nutrients without which muscles simply can't grow.Lowers protein synthesisAlcohol actually reduces its testosterone levels in the body and increases estrogen. At your most intoxicated state your testosterone levels can plunge by almost 25 %. That is actually one of the reasons why guys tend to feel horny after getting drunk. Due to the drastic drop in your testosterone levels in such a short period of time your body's struggles to push it back by releasing large amounts of LH. However, LH is simply responsible for stimulating or arousing the built-up of testosterone. However since testosterone levels drop at the Leydig cell level instead of the pituitary level, LH released by the body does precious little in your testosterone built up. To put it simply you may feel ready to have a go at your girl but when it comes to performance, you just end up embarrassing yourself. ConclusionWhile I can't ask my reader to give up drinking, I would definitely request them to do it in moderation. After all, there's no reason to constantly lose the gains you've made in the gym for a few hours of inebriated fun. Cheers....hic…

Forbes India: Save the world, put out the light bulb

In Swades, a film about the extremely slow march of technological progress towards the Indian hinterland, when Shah Rukh Khan’s character manages to generate electricity, a light bulb flickers inside a hut. No other invention of mankind symbolises the advent of technological age more powerfully than this gadget.
In this simple device mankind’s mastery over electricity, chemistry, metallurgy and metal artistry come together. To emit light the tungsten filament inside the bulb heats up to almost 3,300 degree centigrade.
To heat up at that temperature, the filament has to be extraordinarily thin — one-hundreth of an inch — and extremely long at 6.5 feet.
The longer and thinner the filament, the more it opposes the flow of electricity, and the more it heats up and emits light. Then it has to be packed inside a small glass package. The package itself is in complete vacuum to prevent the filament from going poof! and vapourising.
The European Union just said goodbye to all the ingenuity. It banned the manufacture or sale of light bulbs from September 1, 2009. By 2012, existing light bulbs will be discarded.

Cuba banned its sale or import in 2005, launching a nationwide campaign for compact fluorescent lamps (CFL). In 2007, Australia banned the use of the 100 watt bulb and is likely to phase it out by 2010. The US will begin to phase out incandescent bulbs in 2012. Even in India, the Bureau of Energy Efficiency has launched several programmes to replace incandescent bulbs with CFLs.
“Life is about change for the better. What we have today justifies the change of a 120-year-old technology,” says Kishore Jayaraman, president & CEO of GE Energy in India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. GE is the child of the Edison Electric company, founded by Thomas Edison, inventor of the bulb.
But like the light bulb ushered us into the modern age, it is now showing us the world, post-climate change.
According to the European Commission, the switch to CFLs in the EU will save 40 terawatt hour (TWh) annually by 2020 — the equivalent of 11 million European household’s energy usage for the same period. It will reduce up to 15 million tonnes of CO2 emissions a year.
But, not everything is good about these new technologies.
You could just toss a used incandescent bulb in the trash can and not worry about it. But, a CFL has to be disposed with care as it contains mercury. “A user must be sensitive to the fact that there is the environment to protect,” says Jayaraman.
The incandescent will surely be out of our daily lives but it is unlikely that its symbolism will meet the same fate. When a bulb lights up, it is symbolic of an idea. “In a comic strip, you won’t see an LED lighting up on somebody’s head when he has an idea. It is going to be the incandescent bulb,” says Piyush Pandey, executive chairman at Ogilvy & Mather.
Pandey’s advertising campaign for Lenovo in which he played a key role, was all about ideas and light bulbs. “The symbolism of a light bulb will never end, it will remain in its simplest form as an idea,” he adds.
